Business Development Manager – Software engineering development and consulting services

Business Development Manager - Manchester

Role

We have a need for an experienced Business Development Manager to continue the recent growth of our software engineering and consulting services business. You will be responsible for driving the business to new levels by researching, identifying, qualifying, developing and helping propose and close software development and consulting projects at new and existing customers. With an extensive portfolio of past project examples from top companies across Europe to support your activities, you will position Zuhlke as a premium partner for solving a customer’s toughest technical problems, and delivering the highest quality software solutions in an agile and lean way.

You will be responsible for planning and coordinating customer and industry events and campaigns to support your sales pipeline building activities. To achieve your goals you will partner with other companies and industry groups as necessary, continuously expanding your network and influence.

Proposing specific technical solutions and closing sales is a responsibility of the Business Unit Leader so your success will be measured on the value, depth and breadth of the sales pipeline you build up and your contribution to the success of the company, rather than the actual value of sales that are closed.

 

About You

You want to work for a fast growing software company that only hires the most capable people, that puts the customer’s needs before its own, and has an incredible portfolio of past projects and top-tier, passionate customers to draw upon as references.

You get energised by finding challenging, technical customer problems and bringing exciting, new projects for the team to work on. You like a team approach to customer engagement rather than being a sales ‘lone-wolf’; working together with a  Business Unit Leader to determine and present the right solution to the customer, setting realistic expectations (not over-promising) and consequently building strong, lasting customer relationships. 

You feel comfortable engaging with all levels in the customer’s organization, from the executive CxO level, right down to the technical engineers and project leads.  You are likely to have, or would like to get experience managing major accounts.

With over 3 years in sales or business development you will be accomplished in consultative sales practices; approaching and connecting with new customers, uncovering their problems and identifying all their needs, and presenting your company’s solutions differentiated from competitors.

Ideally you will have a recognised qualification in computing, software or electronics and will be driven to provide your customer’s the best solution that meets their needs, not necessarily what your company is selling.
